The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Africa
This session explores the structures, actors, and conditions that define entrepreneurial ecosystems across Africa, with South Africa serving as a case study for understanding how innovation, investment, policy, and culture intersect to support business creation and growth. Participants will examine key drivers of entrepreneurship, including access to capital, technology adoption, talent development, incubators and accelerators, and connections to global markets. The session will also explore how social enterprises and impact-driven ventures are contributing to economic growth while addressing sustainability and workforce development. This session will highlight how experiential, place-based learning in entrepreneurial ecosystems can deepen students’ understanding of business in diverse contexts and prepare them for leadership in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
