Biography
Leo Rowland has over 20 years of experience in higher education as an administrator and faculty member at various universities and study abroad organizations the US, Argentina, Italy and South Korea. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from California State University, Fresno. He returned to Buenos Aires in June 2024 to become the Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission Argentina after having previously served as Executive Vice President of Laguna College of Art and Design in California. Leo spent a term on the Forum on Education Abroad´s Forum Council and has volunteered as a national selection panelist for both the David Boren Award and the Benjamin Gilman Scholarship. He has taught a wide range of writing courses, most recently at Pepperdine University, Buenos Aires campus. Leo is primarily interested in the framing of human/nature interactions in narrative, visual and artistic form. Outside of higher education, Leo has worked as a journalist, editor/abridger of audio books and translator.
