Biography

Autumn brings over two decades of experience in international education with a strong regional focus on Latin America. She currently serves as Director of Study Abroad Health, Safety, and Risk Management at the University of Iowa, where she leads international risk assessment and safety planning for university travel.

Her path in international education began with a study abroad experience in Guadalajara and undergraduate research on water resource management along the U.S.–Mexico border. Over the years, she has served in a wide range of roles, including interim director for a study abroad program in Guanajuato, administrator of study programs for Big Ten (CIC) schools in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, recruiter and internship manager for private sector companies in Mexico City, and coordinator for a university department of languages and cultures in Puebla. She also previously advised University of Iowa students for Latin America-based programs, frequently visiting program sites throughout the region.

Autumn holds a BS in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Arizona and attended the graduate program in International and Intercultural Management at the School for International Training. Her work reflects a long-standing commitment to expanding access to safe, transformative global learning experiences across the Americas.
