Verdene Safers

Verdene holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and began her career gaining valuable experience in trauma crisis counselling, suicide prevention, and substance abuse recovery. In 2019, she transitioned into the field of social research, working as a Research Assistant and Project Coordinator on a range of TB, HIV, and mental health research projects across South Africa.

Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of NGOs, psychiatric institutions, and research organisations. These experiences provided her with valuable insight into the complexities of mental health, community wellbeing, and social research, while allowing her to develop both professionally and personally.
