Biography
Dr. Tânia Marcia Costa is an Associate Professor at São Paulo State University (UNESP), São Vicente, Brazil, since 2003. She is responsible for courses such as Invertebrate Zoology, Estuarine Systems, Coastal Biodiversity, and the Effects of Climate Change on Coastal Organisms. She leads the Laboratory of Animal Ecology and Behavior and supervises undergraduate and postdoctoral students. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss on coastal organisms, using experimental models involving crustaceans, mollusks, and fish. She is a member of the Brazilian Society of Carcinology, managing editor of the journal Nauplius, and Associate Professor at UNESP’s Aquaculture Center (CAUNESP). She collaborates internationally (with researchers from the USA, Scotland, the UK, Argentina, Mexico and others), and engages in extension projects with vulnerable and traditional coastal communities.
