Biography

Dr. Loren Intolubbe-Chmil is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder in the Student Academic Success Center, a department that supports first generation and historically underserved students towards their academic, personal, and career success. Dr. Intolubbe-Chmil teaches Leadership, Humanities, and Social Sciences courses, including a spring semester class with an embedded Global Intensive program in the Dominican Republic (DR). She has held educator and administrator roles in a range of settings – from preK-12 to postsecondary – for over thirty years, with emphasis on educational equity, access, and transformative learning. In addition to the DR Global Intensive, she has led study abroad programs in southern Africa and Nepal, all that integrate the overlapping interests of leadership, human rights, and sustainability.

Dr. Intolubbe-Chmil earned a B.A. in Sociology with a Minor in Women’s Studies from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton VA, and holds an M.Ed. in Social Foundations of Education and a Ph.D. from the Educational Leadership, Foundations, and Policy program, both from the school of education at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville VA
