Biography

Erdgin Mane is a Policy Officer (Social Statistics & Gender) in the Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division at FAO. He holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics and Empirical Economics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and a B.A. in Economics and Commerce, Summa Cum Laude at the University G. D’Annunzio, Pescara, Italy.

Erdgin has 18 years of experience in FAO’s Economic and Social Development stream, generating analytical evidence and statistics on food security and nutrition, gender equality and women’s empowerment in agrifood systems, socio-economic development and resilience. He was one of the lead authors and coordinated a task force who supervised the preparation of The Status of Women in Agrifood Systems report. He has also contributed to various editions of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in World report. In FAO’s Gender Team, he leads the gender economics and policy cluster.
