Teacher Candidates Abroad: Using Digital Tools to Experience Culture and Develop Disciplinary Knowledge
Look at the experiences of teacher-education students on a faculty-led course to Germany that wove travel abroad with in-country coursework alongside English-speaking, German teacher-education students. The two courses – Adventure-Based Education and Digital Literacy – leveraged technology, including culturally-based digital storytelling, tracking fitness with Fitbits, and maintaining reflective blogs that focused on course content and travel experience. We’ll share students’ blogs and digital stories along with key themes.
