Conservation and Ethical Experiential Learning

Communities around the world have developed deep-rooted knowledge systems to sustain biodiversity and cultural landscapes. This session explores how study abroad programs can ethically engage students in community-led conservation efforts, fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchange and collaboration. With a focus on respecting Traditional Ecological Knowledge, the session highlights case studies and best practices for co-designed experiential learning. Participants will gain insights into inclusive, responsible, and reciprocal models of global engagement that support conservation initiatives and empower both students and host communities.
