Increasing Accessibility for International Students Through Global Internships in the Pandemic And Beyond
International experiential education is a valuable opportunity for students to gain intercultural knowledge, improve foreign language skills, acquire professional expertise, and put theoretical ideas into practice by engaging in internships away from the classroom. Lockdowns around the world forced organizations and industries to adapt and improve existing technology and find new ways of working. Universities that were not previously open to offering credit for virtual internships came to see the merits of this option, resulting in greater access for diverse groups of students to online experiential education.
