Artificial intelligence is transforming the field of communication, reshaping how information is created, shared, managed, and consumed across industries and cultural contexts. From content generation, audience analytics, and personalized messaging to algorithmic curation, synthetic media, and misinformation, AI is creating new opportunities as well as complex ethical challenges. This session explores how communication professionals, educators, and organizations are integrating AI-driven tools into strategic communication, media production, public relations, marketing, and digital engagement while navigating issues of accuracy, bias, transparency, privacy, and accountability. The session also examines AI’s implications for relationship building, public trust, and global communication, highlighting how experiential and place-based learning can help students critically evaluate emerging technologies and develop ethical, professional, and intercultural competencies.
