Obligations of Higher Education Institutions Toward Mutual Respect, Peace, and Sustainable Development
As we move into an era of ever greater demands on higher education systems, there remain certain obligations from universities and the students they graduate. These obligations are clearly articulated by the United Nations Academic Impact’s 10 Principles, which include capacity building, education for all, global citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and access to higher education. At the same time, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals have provided thematic areas to champion our institutional strengths and to achieve regional development. Truly globally engaged universities are fulfilling their obligations through strategic partnerships based on shared values and principles.
