CIEE hosted the CIEE International Education and Exchange Summit during International Education Week, November 16-20, 2020. The Summit was a free online event, delivered through a series of short workshops and presentations, that looked at the future of international education and cultural exchange programs of all types and tackle topics around the theme: Reimagine, Rebuild, Reopen.

High School & Study Abroad – Travelers to Leaders, Travel Tours to Engaged Outcomes. What applied learning actions are students taking after study abroad?

This session will introduce you to three different schools with programs designed to achieve these goals and with student bodies that are engaging with study abroad beyond educational travel tours, with significant scholarship opportunities.

Plenary: From Reaction to Action: The Growth of Remote or Virtual Internships in the Age of COVID-19

Join us for a brief overview of virtual global internships at CIEE and in higher education, and then hear from a panel of three student interns from a mix of US and international institutions and their respective host employers based in Berlin, Prague, and London.

Plenary: Professional & Cultural Exchange – Opportunities for Exchange Visitors to the US.

This session will explore the value these programs offer to participants, U.S. hosts and communities, and the U.S. economy while meeting public diplomacy and foreign policy objectives.

Institutions and their partners were challenged with creating a robust American classroom “living and learning” experiences from afar in a very short time.  Two institutions will talk about their successful experiences.
